What I Read Last Weekend

Being a little older and a little single (also known as separated—not quite divorced, but not quite honestly single), I find that novels with an older heroine in it comforting.   Granted—36 is not exactly older—but when that “older” woman is getting fit by joining a gym and then becomes so good at the fitness pole dancing lessons she takes there that she fills her empty hours by going pro, then, we have a story.  Add in bikers, the FBI, a crooked ex-husband.  Now, we have a great story: Diamond Girl, by Andrea Smith.
I learned of author Andrea Smith through the Erotica Consortium—a group of 8 authors who have become a support for one another as they navigate indie writing.  C.D. Reiss, author of the Submission, Perdition, and Corruption series is part of this group as is Kristy Bromberg whose Driven series has been recommended by Newsweek of all places.  Andrea wrote a piece for a short-lived anthology, Bend, called These Men.  This turned out to be a novella connected to the story above in her G-Men Series.
I had Diamond Girl on my Kindle as a Book Bub offering.  It hung out with my list of Kindle TBR’s.  I’d skim past it while glancing over at a stack of library books on the other side of the bed that I also wanted to read, some with overdue fines adding up daily, some unable to renew as others were waiting for me to get to them.
Finally, I read Diamond Girl---and loved it. Then, I bought the second story—Love Plus One—suspenseful, and loved it, too.  And last weekend, I completed the third installment:  Night Moves, not only suspenseful buy funny, too.  Posting my review on Amazon, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Andrea Smith has consolidated all of the G-Men series to date in a boxed set that also includes G-Men Holiday Wrap.  Since I hadn’t read that, I bought the boxed set:  http://www.amazon.com/G-Men-Andrea-Smith-ebook/dp/B00SDXJ87M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427815893&sr=8-1&keywords=andrea+smith  which is available for a limited time at 99 cents.
My recommendation:  Buy this series!
